Kayla wanted to go swimming, Edward wanted to buy a bucket so based on the list of requirements we set off for a beach. We'd been told about Playa San Juan which sits roughly (very roughly) between Playa Las Americas and Los Gigantes so off we headed. En route we past at least a million banana trees!
It was warm when we got there and we parked up at the side of the road a little way from the beach. We walked down, stopping to play on a park of course to check the beach out. We decided it was a beach worth coming back to but earlier when we could park nearer and make the most of the day there ...since it was no approaching lunch.
Heading further up the coast we came across similar beaches and managed to find Edward a Spider-Man bucket (one kid happy). We decided to head home early afternoon to spend some time in the pool (to make kid number two happy).
We spent ages in the pool playing with super soakers, balls, zoggs and inflatables. We had 2 pools to ourselves which was great fun. We only got out because we were so wrinkly we worried we would be forever creased.
Later we went for a drive along the south coast to try out some more beaches, on the south the waves are big so are great for listening to, watching or jumping over. We found a massive beach with a car park right at it next to La Montana Roja near the airport. Edward had fallen asleep so I stayed with him by the car writing this whilst Steve and Kayla went to the waters edge. Relaxing all round.
After tea we went to the front at Palm Mar then to Pearls. Turns out there's a big island on the horizon (La Gomera) we've never seen it from Palm-Mar before but it's huge and I'm guessing its not a new thing. We sat drinking ice cold coke watching the sunset, we've found that if you buy Edward a kinder egg he'll sit still outside a cafe for hours...it's awesome!
