On the road to Adels Grove we reached the Riversleigh Fossil site. In 36 degree heat we decided we would do the trek to view the fossils and followed the path which led us up and around a small mounting. By the time we reached the top were all hot and bothered.

Ok we are on holidays …so today we did nothing. An early morning trek up the mountain gave us a good view of the caravan park below and lovely sunrise. We swam and had a little retrial therapy. Rochelle finished her assignment and lodged it online - hip hip horray! As we are heading to Adels Grove tomorrow we will be observing a 4-5 day social media ban.

A sleep in for Sunday morning and on the road by 10.00 am. It was only 120km to Mt Isa so we had time to visit the tourist information centre and drive out to Moodara Dam for a look and scope of the caravan park. We were amazed at how many mining caravans were reserved for miners of which most were unused. The Scottish backpacker at the caravan park said the mining slump has had a profound effect on the caravan parks.

Accommodation was limited at Walkabout Creek so we decided to push onto Cloncurry . We had to laugh when we realised that we had set up camp and were sitting down to eat a big pan of chow mein within an hour of reaching Cloncurry. Imagine Rochelle's surprise when she lifted the lid on the loo to see a large green tree frog was in residence.

We are all getting very efficient with packing and setting up with our campers and swags. We were on the road by 8.45 am. We stopped for morning tea in Winton. We had great pleasure in visiting an "emporium" which had just about anything you could ever want - haberdashery to gardening tools to fishing and hunting equipment to household and sporting goods.
