Rolling into Birdsville we hit the information centre to scab as much power as we could to recharge devices and then to the iconic Birdsville pub. Photos inside the pub cost travellers a gold coin donation to the flying doctor service.

We booked sites at the caravan park to utilise power and whilst doing laundry met a fellow traveller from Bendigo. Of course!!

Tomorrow we head out to the Big Red dunes where we hope to drive up the dune and surf down. Then start the trek to Longreach. We have no idea what is ahead of us but are up for any challenges they day will bring.

Rochelle's cousin posted a comment on our blog, remembering the Birdsville Bakery which had to ration baked goods during the 2011 floods which wiped out the Birdsville races.
