We topped up with fuel at Curtin Springs and paid our highest price for fuel at $196 per litre. Luckily we were in the free campground having lunch when we realised Samuel wasn't in either car. He had gone to the toilet to come out and find us gone. Oops, we almost left Samuel behind which may have been a bit awkward.

We settled into the caravan park at Yulara (there were over 300 sites) and then headed out to the Rock to capture the sunset. We dressed up, had our champagne and nibbles and toasted a brilliant view. We were able to drive around the base of Uluru before closing time and the texture and rock formation is very interesting.
