Surprisingly we were up by midday and rented some scooters with Alex and Johnno so that we could explore the island.
We discovered an awesome 30 minute jungle trek (using the term loosely) to a waterfall and some amazing beaches around the south coast of the island. No better way to spend a day than just cruising (safely) around. It was during this trip that we found out something hilarious about Johnno and Alex when they said "Don't you two take singlies incase you ever split up?" As they stood taking photos of each other. Just brilliant.
To make the most of having transport we decided to ride to the night market. Unfortunately it wasn't on so we decided to go to a festival we had noticed earlier that day. On the way we saw a horrendous motorbike crash and ambulances flying around and decided to take the quieter road.
On this journey we didn't pass a single other vehicle for ages. However, three really strange things happened.
- Five people dressed in all white (KKK ish) clothes ran out of the jungle towards the bikes when we were driving in the middle of nowhere. Almost like a kidnap mission.
- We saw a Python that was about 3-4m and about 5 inches thick just chilling at the side of the road.
- When driving slowly through the pitch black jungle some loud speakers started to blare out a Muslim prayer call from the hidden mosque at the side of us. It frightened the life out of us.
Absolutely bizarre happenings but hilarious and until we confirmed all three with the others they could of being imagined.
After eating some questionable chicken at the festival we decided to reduce our chances of food poisoning and go back to the taste sensation that is Mon's restaurant.
The food only confirmed what everyone was thinking. An early night as we were all flagging from last night.
