Thursday we had breakfast then headed off to Koh Samet, a 2 and a half hour drive then a quick speed boat across to the island. The speed boat dropped us off on the beach leaving us dragging the suitcases across the sand! We tried to check in to find out the speedboat dropped us at the wrong hotel so we had to hull our suitcases onto a taxi and head off for the right destination, we were very relieved when we finally arrived! We chilled for a while and freshened up before strolling along the beach and sitting for dinner. Our hotel serves lots of seafood and real steak, it was all so tasty! Our hotel has a fire show on the beach every evening whilst people eat their dinner so it was exciting for us to know that mums and dads would be able to watch as we have seen so many by now. We played cards before hitting the hay after a long days travelling.
Friday we had breakfast then hit the beach! We lounged on a more rocky secluded area with a bit of shade for the pale people (mums and dads)!! It was so nice just to relax and not think about having to do/plan anything for the next week. At sunset we freshened up before meeting for dinner and playing more cards.
Saturday we had breakfast then hit the beach! We moved round to the actual beach today, but in the shade of the trees, so we could have a paddle in the sea. We went paragliding whilst the mums stayed on the beach and the dads came on the boat to take photos. Paragliding was fun, we got to go up together which is good as Laura felt it would be lonely on your own however Ben feels we would have gone higher without 2 people's weight. The boat driver kept slowing down so we dropped into the sea then quickly sped off again so we would shoot back into the sky! At sunset we freshened up before meeting for dinner and playing more cards.
Sunday we had breakfast then hit the beach! We chose our nice secluded rocky part for today to escape back to the shade to give the burnt bits a break. We hired out kayaks with our dads for a hours paddle, Laura and Ben managed to stay safely aboard their kayak however Greg and Terry had some difficulty resulting in Ben swimming out to save them!! At sunset we decided to have some cocktails so Laura introduced the parents to Thailand's famous buckets, we drank and attempted to play a game called flux which ended pretty swiftly as no one understood the rules. Once the buckets were consumed we freshened up for dinner... and to play more cards!
Monday we had breakfast then hit the beach! We sat on the main beach on the sunbeds today so we could go for a dip in the sea and do a bit of snorkeling. It was a pretty chilled out day and at sunset we freshened up for dinner which was obviously followed by cards!
Tuesday we had breakfast then hired mopeds to explore the rest of the island, the parents all had their own mopeds and we shared one as usual. We drove from the top to the bottom of the island on the 1 road with many speedbumps! The island is so small with only beaches as tourist attractions so we stopped off for a break at a couple of beaches before heading to the viewpoint for sunset. When we got back we freshened up for dinner and of course we played cards after!
Wednesday we had breakfast then... Guess what... Hit the beach for our last day in paradise! We went on jet skis with the dads which was really fun although Ben hates it when Laura tells him to slow down!! Later in the afternoon Laura, Helen and Greg all went for aroma massages which were lovely as you lie on sunbeds right by the sea so it was super relaxing, Greg was a bit nervous though when he realised his massous was a man! We all packed up our stuff, we unloaded a load of bits we felt we didn't need onto mums and dads to take back home leaving us feeling very refreshed with our extra nice clothing and toiletries which were bought out for us. We enjoyed our dinner and cards and last evening of sitting at the dinner table with our feet in the sand.
Thursday we had breakfast then caught our speed boat back to mainland. Our driver took us back to Bangkok via Pattaya for a couple of hours so we could have some lunch in Hard Rock Cafe... Yet another glass for Lauras collection. When we reached our hotel in Bangkok we chilled by the pool before sitting down for our last evening of dinner and cards. As the parents were leaving early in the morning we decided to say goodbye tonight so they wouldn't have to wake us tomorrow, we felt it was easier saying bye this time as the past 4 months have gone so fast we knew it wouldn't be long before we see them again however from the state of our mums they would probably say differently!!! We had such a wonderful week and couldn't thank our mums and dads enough for coming to see us, we are so lucky!
