Saturday, We arrived in Guangzhou at 8:00 and were met by our final guide Deborah. We went to McDonald's for some breakfast then caught a bus to the Macao border, the queue at the border was so long, full of Chinese wanting to try their luck in the casinos! Once in Macao we took the shuttle to the Venetian, the hotels really were like a mini Vegas, but not as fabulous and absolutely packed with hundreds of thousands of Chinese, very strange. We stored our bags and went exploring, a group of people stayed in the casinos whilst we went to the ruins of St Paul's Cathedral, built from 1602 to 1640, it was one of the largest Catholic churches in Asia at the time, it unfortunately was destroyed by a fire during a typhoon on the 26 January 1835 and the ruins, sat on a small hill with 68 stone steps leading up to it, now consist of the southern stone facade and part of the staircase. After, we went to the Macao Tower for Ben to do the world's highest bungee jump, 233 metres, the wait was 4 hours so Ben and Naheen stayed and nervously waited their turn whilst Laura and some others headed back to the casino. When we got to the Casino everyone decided to head on back to Hong Kong so Laura went and was to be followed by Ben later after his jump which he absolutely loved!!
