After our lazy day yesterday we went out for a lovely meal! It was the first time since we got here that we actually had a proper sit down meal at a restaurant! It was amazing food as well!
I decided i wasn't going to drink much last night so ordered one vodka and coke, forgetting that it's buy one get on free at that bar! So the not many drinks turned into a few and we ended up staying out much later than we had planned to!
We still managed to get up fairly early this morning and decided that with nothing else planned we would finally go and see the grand palace and the temple of the reclining Buddha.
We spoke to the taxi and tuk tuk driver outside who has sorted us out getting around so far. He recommended that instead of going straight there we should do the river cruise. He drove us down to the dock and sorted out a cheaper price for us and we even had our own boat all to ourselves!
I'm so glad we did it that way, it was incredible seeing Bangkok from the river! There was so much stuff we wouldn't have seen otherwise!
We were then dropped off and walked a short distance to find the temple of the reclining Buddha. All day, every time we walked somewhere there were Thai people telling us that wherever you were going was closed. Don't listen to them! Both places were more than open and very busy and we would have missed out so much if we had taken any notice of them!
The temple of the reclining Buddha was incredible, there was just so much to see! The actual Buddha was amazing, you can't quite get your head around how big it actually is!
We spent ages walking around trying to see everything we could here before leaving for the palace.
It was quite a walk to the palace, again with people telling us it was closed! When we did get there Shane was told that his shorts weren't long enough so bought an amazing pair of elephant print trousers!
Again we had a really good look around here but by this point it was really hot and both of us were ready to come back! What we did see was amazing though! Everything is gold and sparkly!
Out of the two in glad we did the reclining Buddha first and got to see the most of that place!
We came home around 3 in the afternoon hoping to go for a swim but the pool was really busy :(
Instead we are making the most of our rooms air con!
I remembered to use my phones camera today to have lots of pictures to put up from today!
