Well I'm getting extremely partial to all this pink champagne I keep drinking at the polo, they keep topping my glass up and I'm pretty sure I drink it a lot faster than everyone else!
Owen gave me a schooling lesson this morning on harkness, a 16.2 that turns on a 6 pence at the slight touch of the reign! We got them walking backwards, cantered 5 meter circles, jumped a course of logs and went up and down banks, it was great fun and I've never ridden such an athletic big horse!!! He moves like a little games pony!!!
Oh deer it's a sad day today! The polo ponies get their manes hogged every other week and although the young bay horse has shown ability and has progressed when under the saddle, being shod, loaded, caught etc, when we tried to clip her, she was gonna kill us both before she let the clippers anywhere near her! She gave a good fight and owen informed me that 'he fights with them whilst they stand him at $500 and if he can't win, they go for dog meat! He only has a 50% success rate with all the young horses he gets off the track and unfortunately, she is that 50%! to be fair she could've hurt someone in future and he does give them a second chance in the first place as they go via him before the meatman! Still sad though and I did shed a tear as it's not nice to watch a horse fight so hard! Thank god the little chestnut is still being as good as gold! I suppose it explains why all the polo ponies behaved impeccably!!!!! I suppose this is the harsh horse world that I don't normally have to see!!!
