This morning went well, I rode corsicka today, the sexy black horse that's sharp, think I've now ridden all 6 that are currently in work! We then hacked the youngsters up to see the fatties that are out in the far paddock waiting for the A grade season to start! As we were on our way up owen turned to me and said 'be prepared to beat these lot back to the gate' ha ha! However after a short gallop, owen (the horse whisper) managed to keep 6 horses back whilst I got back then he raced to the gate! We then tried loading the youngsters for tomoros polo game, they're not playing but he's gonna umpire on them!
After that was my first trip off the ranch, venturing out to the shopping centre in Perth! The roads are massive and so are the shops and vehicles! I'm pretty sure I saw my first aboriginal family. I bought my east coast lonely planet and sent some Xmas presents home to the family!!! Andrews gonna love his, it's the doll he's always wanted (inhouse family joke). As I was buying it in the shop an old lady said over my shoulder 'ooooohhhhhhh isn't she pretty', this made me laugh as this doll was far from nice looking.
I drove the tractor tonite to take the hay round, went the long way round obviously so I didn't crash, have already pre warned owen of the 'megane' incident! When I got out the shower I heard Julie had come back from the dentist and said to owen 'look I have beautiful teeth', he laughed and said 'yeah but what about the rest of ya' ha ha! Me and owen chat away all day, mainly about horses but he also teaches me cultural stuff about the aboriginal people, e.g. That when they are given council housing they burn it up for firewood and certain tribes have only been in contact with White man in the last 25 years and a common cold could kill them! Neva thought I'd enjoy socialising with a 67 year old so much!!! Im looking forwards to the games this weekend n Owens told me grooms are treated as equals in Oz so happy days!!!
