Today we were all up early again so we packed our beach gear and some lunch and set off for a day trip north to Quondong Point.
Lovely spot with cleared campsites scattered along the beach frontage. We followed the 4x4 tracks north along the coast and found more great spots to stop and enjoy the view! It was very similar to Barn Hill, with the red rocky cliffs meeting the ocean. It was free to camp here and being WA schools hols we were surprised there was still plenty of spots available.
After driving as far north as we could to Coulomb Point we headed back and picked the best spot to stop for a swim and lunch. We put the awnings out on the cars for some shade, made some chook sangas then everyone hit the beach. I stayed in the shade with Archie as it was too hot to take him down. The kids had a great time exploring amongst the rocks and Shaun and Caleb found a crab about the size of your palm. Caleb excitedly bought it up to the cars to show Archie and I. Archie had a lil sleep in his pram while I took photos and contemplated having a rest myself.
A great day was had by all. Shaun and I both liked Broome... and with Quondong and Barn Hill both so close there was lots of places to explore and camp right on your doorstep.
