Tuesday 11th August pm Shegness to York via Grimsby
The roads were very good the traffic easy to drive amongst. No one was driving over the speed limit and I suspect that the number of speed cameras had a bit to do with that.
We got to Grimsby and were going to see the sea as Grimsbury is at the mouth of the Humber River. But not to be. Found a parking building but it was in a huge mall. We stayed all of half an hour.
Jill I hope "need" comes to the fore in the near future!!
We got out of the car park and headed on the road and over the Humber Bridge and paid our toll of £1.50 and were heading to our accommodation in York. We were heading up a hill and saw a windmill at Skidby so we stopped for coffee and cake as it was afternoon tea time - yummee. The windmill is only one of 3 still working windmills in England and this one only works once a week and only then if the wind blows at 20 mph or more. It was a lovely sit just sitting beneath the huge blades and supping coffee.
The drive into York was uneventful apart from the dozens of round a bouts. Arrived at our accommodation and we parked in the street outside and we then put our parking permit on the dash board.
Our accommodation is lovely and looks very comfortable.
