Our own walk with tour guide Jannie started at the Cathedral and wended it's way around the streets past the house of Edward Heath, past Mompession House built in 1701 for a wealthy merchant. The High Street Gate which was erected in 1327 because of the trouble between clergy and citizens including armed robbery. Originally the gate had a portcullis but now just a great door.
