Wednesday 12th August - York
Last night after we had checked into our B&B we walked into town to have dinner and settled for WaggaMumma. We both enjoyed something other than English food.
This B&B is lovely and we both had a very nice breakfast. We had a very quiet day with a walk into the town which takes us about 20 minutes. The Jannie armed with the map guided us through the Old town. We had to find a Post Office and then a coffee stop. At this stage there were not a large number of people about and it was already quite warm. Too warm to sit in the sun for coffee.
After coffee we wandered into the Shambles which is a laned area of the Old City where there are markets and lots of interesting stores. We bought some more post cards, a couple of tea towels and some more fruit.
We found a nice pub for lunch and shared a cheese and relish sandwich and had a beer. The day was very warm and after walking back to the Cathedral we decided to walk back to our B&B and rest up. We found Michael's Restaurant that we went to last time we were in York and decided that we would try it again tonight.
