Saturday 15th August - West Beach
We fought our way through the crowds to get to the opposite end of the harbour basin. We had to climb the cliffs via a set of stairs those going up on the left those coming down to our right. At the top was a whole carnival atmosphere with all sorts of side shows, all well patronised all seeming to have minions as prizes.
We walked all the way along the clifftop to the lift that went down to the beach but no we didn't go down to the beach in the lift. Instead we walked down this very steep path and finally got to the Beach Huts at the bottom. We spoke to one of the ladies who was getting her daughter changed. They pay an annual rent for the hut and have had the same hut for ever as it was originally her fathers'. All very neat and very colourful.
