Saturday 15th August - Whitby

Today dawned sunny and a far cry from the previous day. We didn't know that there was a regatta week on that started this morning and because of this there are thousands of people about. The yachts moved out of the harbour basin to race about 8.30am.

We had breakfast down in the dining room and there were a number of other guests down there also breakfasting. We did a little bit of texting, emailing and the blog because we have no Wifi in our room.

After breakfast we decided to get the Hop on Hop off bus to tour Whitby because although the harbour basin in quite large the town is vey hilly on all sides. So we thought that rather than punish ourselves by climbing hills we got the bus and the cost was very reasonable at £4 each.
