Friday 14th York to Whitby

It rained heavily most of last night and when we awoke it had stopped but was overcast and grey. After breakfast we packed up and left York bound for Scarborough for morning coffee. The closer we got the foggier the weather got and with visibility down to a couple of hundred feet we found a park in a shopping centre and had our coffee.

Out onto the street we thought that we would walk down to the sea front but after going only a short distance downhill we gave it up and walked back to the car. Evidently there are cliffs at Scarborough and a lift to take you down to the beach. We had our rain jackets on for the first time since leaving London but no rain just this thick fog.
