Saturday 15th August - Lunch and Walk

We got a ticket on our car because the parking due to the five day regatta was restricted in some areas and as you can guess we parked in a restricted area. Well we shifted the car to a new spot alongside other cars with the same tokens in their windows.

We walked away from the harbour to look for a pub that is not so crowded. There are queues out the doors of many pubs and fish and chip shops. I don't know how many fish and chip shops there are in Whitby but there are dozens. We even saw a queue out of the local butcher shop which was very nice and had lovely display of meat in the window. The pork is cheap but the beef is expensive so I guess that is why Pulled Pork sandwiches feature on every menu.

We had a nice sandwich upstairs in a pub that overlooked the upper basin - oh and a beer.
