Monday 31st August - Beer in a back street

We wandered along some of the back streets from St Mark's Square mainly to get out of the crowds and secondly to find a cheap beer place.
Eventually we sat in an area where there was no one sitting and had a beer and a chat. The fog had burned off and it was getting hotter.

We decided to head back to the boat and have a free late lunch on board.
There's quite a hassle getting back on board as we have to go through Italian Customs and put the bags through the scanners and then go through ourselves and then the procedure is repeated on board the ship but instead of showing our passports we show and have scanned our On Board Cards, which not only shows our name and cabin number but also has our photo on.
One time Jan hands over her card and the chap says "Excuse me mamm but is this you and he's looking at a photo of Kev". He took my card and swapped hands over and gave us back our correct cards with a bit of a laugh and some comment about "now you look better".
