Thursday 27th August - Lunch

When we came out of the Duomo the temperature was 29deg and the humidity was terrible so it was beer time.
We stopped at a restaurant across from the Duome and asked how much tourists had to pay for a beer here. €9 and €10, so instead we sort a backstreet tabac where we had the same beer and sat on the street under an awning for €5 and €6. Still very expensive by back home standards.

We wanted a new carryon bag for the plane seeing we had such a hassle with EasyJet last time and we have another flight in a couple of weeks time. So away we went looked in the area that was meant to have bargains.
It did and I tried on a linen jacket that was €49 and the XXL was like a straight jacket. I reckon Mike would have needed a Large they were that small.
Anyway we hadn't seen a shop selling luggage but down an alley at a Souvenier Shop outside on the sidewalk were some suitcases. We haggled and got one foe €40.
Now it's really too hot and we went back to the Hop on bus to take us back to our Hotel. Well the Red bus does anyway. We were sitting in the shade and along came a Red bus and because we were a wee way from the bus stop had to hike it just so we wouldn't miss it and have to wait half an hour for the next one.
Got on board and sat downstairs in the airconditioned part for our ride back home. We travelled along a bit and didn't seem to be going in the right direction and found that we were on the Blue bus route. Great a bus painted red but as we found out had a sign on the front with Blue Bus Route B.

We had to walk a bit further than we would have done had we been on the correct bus but got back to our room and showers all round to cool off.

We leave for Venice tomorrow by train but overall we would not hurry back to Milan. There are other places that we have been to in Italy that we could recommend in preference.
