Tuesday 25th August - Edinburgh to Milan

Wasted day really as was all in travel and not without it's problems.
We had to have the rental car back to the airport by 11.30am and that was no problem.

We did 1584 miles whilst in Britain and we filled it up prior to getting it back to the airport and it cost £50.97 for 45.15 litres and we had travelled 624 miles since last fill up.
We were both very impressed with the VW Golf and wouldn't mind one back home but maybe too small to have another couple in the car to go away.

Ok the rental car back and headed for the International Terminal which turned out to be also the Domestic Terminal. We had a coffee as our EasyJet flight was not assigned a gate at this stage but we were headed out at 2.30pm.

After we had had coffee went back to check on our flight and hello delayed but with no time. We were able to drop our bags as we had checked in online a few days before. Jan's bag 19.4kgs and OK. Kev's bag 22.1kgs and they wanted £30 for overweight 2.1kgs. So away we went and opened up the bag, took out my jacket and a pair of shoes and stuffed the shoes in my carry on now 18.6kgs so OK too. Stupid system as it's still going to be on the plane.
Delayed and gate notification will be at 4.30pm.
Let's have a beer or a whiskey as we had had lunch. Then we got a go to the gate.
Well they loaded that plane through both back and front door and were away quicker than any other flight that we have been on.

The 2 hour 20 flight took 2 hours and we had to put our watches forward an hour so now we have no idea what time it is back home.

Our ride from Milan Airport was not there so we ended up getting a bus into Milan and that took 45 minutes and we were hurtling along on a motorway and from there took a taxi to the hotel.

Jannie felt like something to eat so we went down the street to a small bar/cafe and had a wine and bread and cheese.
We finally got to bed about 11.30pm.
