My walk today again was pretty easy. I reached San Juan de Ortega in just over 6 hours. There were some hills but nothing too crazy. I really do feel like I could just walk on and on and day after day.
Part of the appeal for me to walk the Camino was for the solitude and simplicity. Even though I am not working, my life feels so hectic. Everyday I wake with a list of things to do, and I spend the days frantically checking things off my list.
I want to put out a garden, raise chickens, turn bowls, bake cakes, have friends and family over for simple and easy meals...
In my life i've concentrated on completing an education, raising a family, earning a living, and building a business. Those things filled my time but they are done. I kinda thought I'd find some "big" thing to be passionate about and to spend my time and energy on. So, maybe it's okay if I don't. Maybe I just need to slow down and plant a garden...
I really feel so fortunate to be living my life. It really is the best life I could ever imagine.
Tomorrow I will walk to Burgos where I will meet Jim. What a happy day!
