I reached Belorado in just about 6 hours today. Again, it was a relatively easy trek. Much of the route paralleled a highway, but since it is Sunday, traffic was not as heavy as it might be otherwise. The first couple of days (3-4) my muscles hurt with nearly every step - especially my calves, glutes and hamstrings. Now they don't hurt - yay!!
On either my 3rd or 4th day of walking, a man behind me got closer and closer. He was carrying a boom box and classical music was playing. When he was close I turned around and made some comment about the music. He said "no English." He got close to me and began a tirade in another language. He was blasting me about my backpack and saying it was all wrong. No duh!! My shoulders were killing me. I kept trying to adjust the straps and couldn't seem to get any relief. He began pulling and adjusting the straps. He motioned me to bend forward, adjusted some more and then just walked on past with me calling "gracias" after him! And, now it's perfect!! Not that I can carry it without my knee hurting.
Today I finally met an American woman (I mean United Statesians) I spoke with on the phone in Asheville. About 5-6 weeks ago I was in Asheville doing a long walk with my pack and I ran into Diane and Tony Wilkey. They were out for a bike ride. After I was home Diane texted me and said she and Tony just met a woman named Pam at the Wedge and she was preparing to go to Spain and walk the Camino! They gave me her number and I called and spoke with her. We didn't manage to meet but it turned out she and a friend were/are doing the same portion I'm doing and at the same time. This morning I heard two women talking as they approached from behind I turned and asked if one of them was Pam, and one of them was!
Tomorrow's route is very hilly!

Diane I'm so excited you met up with Pam!! Tony and I really liked her.I'm so impressed (and happy) that your muscles don't hurt any longer; you sound like you could go on forever. Just smile at those hills tomorrow and pretend you're just going up and down Lakeview!!
lynn Love the picture. Glad That you are feeling stronger! Yay! Will think about you tomorrow.
