Happiness Is The Road
We had breakfast and then just before nine we wandered down to the farm to say g'day to Megs the calf. Megs was happy to see us and came over for a cuddle. She is really tame and loved being fussed and stroked on the head. The guinea fowl and hens were there as well and the c*** was strutting around and c*** a doodle doo ing. At just after nine the lovely lady from reception, Kylie, came over with a big milk feeding bottle. We were the only people there and we took it in turns to give the bottle to Megs. She was really hungry and greedily drank from the bottle. It was great fun to be doing this. After this we were asked by Kylie's husband if we could help them move the massive pumpkins which they had been growing on their veg patch. They now needed to be moved indoors. They had been growing the pumpkins to enter a contest with them in July. They didn't win last year but hoped to do better this year. The pumpkins were a special giant variety and they certainly looked award winning to us. Six of us helped move them onto the back of their ute. They were incredibly heavy. There was Jay and me, Kylie and her husband Barry and two other guys that they knew. Each pumpkin was rolled onto some tarpaulin and then we hauled them onto the ute. This was a really lovely place to stay and we told Kylie that we'd like to stay for another night. We then went back to the camper and chilled out for a few hours. After we'd had some lunch we went for another walk around the falls and we called into the office to see Kylie and pay for our extra night. The pumpkins were in the reception area and we had our photo taken. Kylie also very kindly gave us some eggs from their own hens to say thank you which was really nice of her. Later on we went back to see Megs and watched her having her milk again. We also had a lovely long chat with Kylie. The tree kangaroos unfortunately remained elusive again today and none were spotted. This had been a lovely day in a lovely place.
