Museo Kamak Maki
About a 10 minute cab ride from Misualli was our next destination Museo Kamak Maki. Not knowing exactly what to expect we were not so impressed when we arrived, but staying here turned out to be one of the best decisions we made! Then we met our guide who was dressed like a traditional Kichwa tribesman, but we recognized him as the super drunk guy who couldn't put a sentence together the night before.... Haha!!! Needless to say he did not remember us and didn't appear to be too hung over! He was a super nice guy though and took us to another Kichwa community where we saw traditional dance and I won a prize by hitting the target with the 6 foot blowdart gun! Champ!
Afterwards we went up the river a little further, Cristina and I hopped in tubes and floated back down to the museum with the current while mom was getting massages from the guide! I don't want to go any further into that subject! Lol
Back at the museum that night we had dinner and another man who is part of the family got a giant leaf from the jungle and from scratch made mom a bracelet. The oldest man who lived there came by and gave us really nice traditional handmade gifts, I was given a necklace and the girls got purses. Another really nice sweet lady who help prepare our dinners played crazy eights with us and really enjoyed it! Great day!
