Off to the library where we complete most of the maths testing which has been set for us - hopefully we'll finish the last session on Thursday. We enjoyed lunch in town and a swim in the park pool at the end of the day (beware of the giant pineapple which tips a tonne of water every 2 minutes!). Dad took us to watch Because of Winn-Dixie after tea which I enjoyed.

Together with the Pecks (yes we've found each other again) we head out to Moore Reef on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef. We spend the day based on a floating pontoon with a range of activities to enjoy. Just after we arrived we have an hour on a guided snorkel safari just outside the reef, and see a shark, lots of coral, fishes and some turtles. After breakfast we head into the city and find it a busy place with lots of shops. A trip to Yorkeys k*** along the morning beaches sees us book some tours for later in the week. In the afternoon Mum wins the mini golf Masters!

As soon as we set off and pass the 40 Mile Scrub things start to change - real trees, greenery and some decent hills. Yippee. A stop in Atherton to post off school work and it's great to enjoy some green grass and cloudy humid weather. Back inland to Normanton and east on the Gulf Development Road which narrows frequently to one lane making progress slow. We have lunch in Georgetown and stay at a campsite near Mt Garnet. Here's a photo of Mum's catfish caught at Karumba.
