Since our car service 2 weeks ago the airbag and seatbelt lights have been stuck on, accompanied by alert "dings" for the first few kilometres of each drive. So back to the dealer for a "quick diagnostic test" which ended up as a 7 hour job to find the problem (a broken wire) and fix things. So we spent a day in Cairns Central shopping centre, but it was worth the wait.

Off to the library where we complete most of the maths testing which has been set for us - hopefully we'll finish the last session on Thursday. We enjoyed lunch in town and a swim in the park pool at the end of the day (beware of the giant pineapple which tips a tonne of water every 2 minutes!). Dad took us to watch Because of Winn-Dixie after tea which I enjoyed.

As soon as we set off and pass the 40 Mile Scrub things start to change - real trees, greenery and some decent hills. Yippee. A stop in Atherton to post off school work and it's great to enjoy some green grass and cloudy humid weather. As we wind down the Gillies Range Road (it is very windy) we see the Pacific Ocean and upon arrival in Cairns hope the chance of showers in the evening comes true.
