Off and up we go to the Atherton Tablelands where the roads are winding and the hills (many extinct volcanoes) are green, After setting up camp we headed off to visit Lake Eacham and saw some great little turtles, onto the curtin fig tree and then Lake Barrine. It is great to see some lakes and green grass again.

Another one of those things we have to do, car servicing. We dropped the car off and headed into the city for a while and did a bit of shopping. We spent most of the afternoon doing a little bit of school work and then back to the water park.

We had a bit of a sleep in because we are now getting very old. Off to the library to do do some maths test hopefully the last for awhile. Back to the park for more punishment from the giant pineapple. We headed over to the camp kitchen to cook up some pizzas we made. It's funny when people say ohh homemade wow that's a bit fancy - but nowhere near as fancy as the rumball mixture birthday cake Mum made for us yesterday. She's amazing.

Yes it's our birthday and we are up early to find Mum has decorated the van and all of our cards and presents are waiting for us. After a cooked breakfast and present opening we head off to Kuranda for the day, travelling up on the historic railway. We visited the butterfly park and had a look around the markets before heading back to Cairns on the Skyrail, which takes you above the rainforest in gondolas.
