As soon as we set off and pass the 40 Mile Scrub things start to change - real trees, greenery and some decent hills. Yippee. A stop in Atherton to post off school work and it's great to enjoy some green grass and cloudy humid weather. As we wind down the Gillies Range Road (it is very windy) we see the Pacific Ocean and upon arrival in Cairns hope the chance of showers in the evening comes true. We spend the afternoon in the city enjoying some shopping and the sights.
