We got off the train at about quarter past 5 in the morning and caught the ferry across the island. Once we got there we had to catch a local bus to our hotel. We caught the bus but couldn't see out of the window because of all the condensation but we needed to look out for a hotel to ring the bell and get off. Luckily we just saw it in time and got off and walked to our guest house where we checked in and went to sleep. While we were asleep we kept getting woken up by the sound of the rain, it was the heaviest rain wed ever seen and it felt our room was going to fall apart. We slept for ages as the rain didn't stop and it didn't all day so we just stayed in for most of it.
We bought some bug spray to spray Grainnes bag as her back was covered in little bites so we were worried that there was a bed bug still in there. We sprayed everything and went through a full can of spray to make sure everything was dead.
When the rain stopped we went out for something to eat near the beach, it was a little seating area where you ordered food from different food places around, we got seafood rice with a full cooked fish and veg. In this little area there was a crazy German guy that was talking and arguing with himself sat on his own table. He was scaring everyone around him and then he threw a can of coke at a group of Chinese people eating, I don't know whether he threw it at them or whether he threw it at his imaginary friend. The people working there called the police and then took him away. The guy service us told us he was there the day before and was throwing plates and glasses at people. After the meal we just went to bed as it was low season so nothing else was open at all.
The next day had better weather but was still overcast, we went to a bar for breakfast, there was a woman in there who was really drunk and kept asking us questions as if we had been talking the night before, it turns out she had been sat there all night. While we were eating she asked for a taxi back to her hotel and for two bottles of wine to take away.
We finished and then headed to the beach, the beach was nice but the sea wasn't very nice it was quite cold and murky, we got bored quite quickly.
Later that day we went out to a little restaurant and ordered some Malaysian curry's which were really nice, they were quite different to all other curries we'd had before.
