The Nullarbor wasn't as bad as we expected. It was difficult to determine where the start and finish is. We enjoyed the trip and temp got over 40 but mostly around the 35. We only stopped at two of the four lookouts which gave us a good view over the Bight. There were two time changes which had us confused until we were well into SA on the second day. The landscape changes were interesting to see too.

Weather was getting up into the 40's here. We went in via Coolgardie and out via Kambalda. It was great to catch up with Jen and see her new home (built in 1910). Jan did the walking town tour and Jen came with us on the Super Pit and Brothel tours. Jen took Jan out to see the Zinc slag being poured at night, a very unique opportunity as it's not on the tourist list.

We took the detour from Ravensthorpe via Hopetoun which turned out to be a dirt road, luckily it wasn't too rough. We free camped at Munglinup overnight. What wonderful beaches this stretch of the coast. The weather was warm enough for a swim too. We went for a drive around with Thelma and Brian to Bandy Creek and the 11 Mile Beach Road. What a way to start the New Year. We took our time to drive down through Denmark and called into some of the beaches along the way including William and Peaceful Bay. Not many can be seen from the road so getting out and stretching the legs was a welcome break. We did both the tree top and ground walk through the Tingle Trees. We didn't expect the bridge across the tree tops to sway so much but got used to that pretty quickly.

There was quite a bit to see in the area so glad we booked a week here. There was a great bike path out the back of the caravan park which they say goes right to Perth. The last whaling station was here and some spectacular natural coastline as well as the spot where the ANZACs marched from. We drove to Shelly Beach which overlooks the most southerly point of WA.
