Geoff N Jan Cagney's Travels
This town had a few surprises for us, six caravan parks and an attractive main street and harbour for such a small population. Unfortunately we were too late to take part in a plantation tour, however we did get to enjoy some of the local produce. The 30 minute ride along the one mile jetty in the old train was relaxing and gave us good views as we went out over the mangroves and sand bars into the deeper water where the Gascoyne river meets the sea. At the Heritage and Cultural Centre we saw some interesting art works and heard from locals about the area and saw the film on the burrowing bees which are unique to this region.
