The boat left at 10 and returned 5. We caught the bus around the island first then had lunch before setting off on the bus over to the lighthouse. We did the tour and were rewarded with some great views from the top. It was a bit cool for a swim by the time we got back to the jetty so we had a look around the museum and buildings before heading back, glad we decided against cycling as wouldn't have seen nearly as much in the time we had there.

Jan and Terry gave us a wonderful guided tour through the Vasse Highway to the Brockman Highway and back up the coast road to Dunsborough and Busselton. Stopping off at many of the tourist spots including Cape Leeuwin, Cape Hamelin and some of the best beaches and fishing spots.

As well as our visit with Terry and Jan we returned on our own as there was so much to see. We did only one of the many caves and Jan did the Maze. The forest drive was amazing as was some of the quirky towns along the way.

Geoff caught up with his old RAAF Boss Terry Hickton and wife Jan who took us all around the region over our 11 day stay. It was a very busy time and we saw so much more than the tourist brochure showed.

Monkey Mia has a boat ramp, resort and dolphin information centre along its sandy beach. The rangers keep strict control of the interaction and although you can swim you have to keep still if they come close and no touching or they march you out of the water. The talk and feeding only happens three times in the morning depending on when the dolphins come in. We managed to catch one session which was very interesting.
