We arrived in Cartegena on Monday and we have been trying since then to get the trucks onto the ferry to panama. We have been given different dates but as I write we think that they left tonight on their 18 hour crossing. We have just booked a flight to Panama City and will leave at 1 pm tomorrow.
It has been very hot here but we have walked around the city for hours and it is really very pleasant as there is an old quarter with narrow streets and colourful houses. Our hotel is right by the beach and the water is amazingly warm, even to me!!!!!!
We will be quite sad to say goodbye not only to Columbia but to south america. This country has been so fantastic and in many ways a surprise. There is fabulous scenery and the people are so nice too. The police are so friendly and helpful at all times and everyone takes pride in being Columbian.
However it is time to move on and we are looking forward to seeing central America.
We hope to be reunited with Freddy on Monday or Tuesday( who knows!!) and then we will start to explore Panama, starting with the canal of course!!!
Terry and Peter have recovered from their mud bath and Terry swears he looks 20 years younger, you can judge for yourself!
We have felt like holidaymakers this last few days but there is no doubt that we prefer to be living out of the truck and not out of a hotel, the bed is so much more comfy for a start.
