Leaving our Penrith bnb at 9.30 we drove to have coffee in Parramatta. See blog for details, but it wasn't worth it. Especially so as due to heavy traffic, we suddenly didn't have much time to return the car to Europcar.
With Alice leading the navigation like an absolute hero, we drove to Bondi Junction in order to drop off our bags at the second last bnb of the trip.
Sans bags, we made it to Europcar through heavy traffic. Making it with 2 minutes to spare! Wowza.
To calm down after this stress, (actually, I was never stressed as I always knew Al Bal's navigation would get us there), we had coffee at a nearby patisserie and planned. Here we hopefully secured our former South Coogee place to stay, for knock down price! Huzzah!
A train and bus back took us back into town to visit Paddington Markets. Sunny day now - 28degrees. We decide we like this area of Sydney, but bemoan that it's few and far between in comparison to Melbourne.
We saunter down adjoining Oxford Street, as its apparently only 30 mins walk to the bnb from here. Ha. Take the opportunity to investigate Centennial park for tomorrow's Tropfest Festival. The worlds largest short film festival... And it's FREE to attend!
Because of some other event in the park (which was lovely by the way) our walk became very long and very hot. We rediscover just how hilly Sydney is, and arrive at Coles on the top of the hill quite bruised.
The houses here are really quite lovely though. An area to match Mooney Ponds in Melbourne for sure. Lovely old, long, detached houses made out of wood and brick.
Equipped with foods, we prepare luncheon for Tropfest tomorrow in the afternoon sun in our bnb kitchen, then retire to our room to watch Tropfest films in preparation for tomorrow.
Are they going to be a bit rubbish?? They could be. Eep!
