We arrived in Shark Bay and set up in Denham at the Blue Dolphin caravan park and had a nice sunny afternoon to explore the small, pretty town but woke the next morning to grey skies and a bit of light rain. We headed off early to Monkey Mia for the dolphin interaction anyway. Unfortunately we weren't the only ones! There must have been about 100 people! So we didn't see too much the first time. However, more than half of those people left while we stayed for the second interaction about half an hour later. We were also in a much better position this time and saw the beautiful dolphins up close and the boys also got chosen to give the lovely dolphin, Surprise, a fish! It was a very special experience! We had a bit of morning tea at the cafe and then stayed for the third and final interaction of the day. We left beautiful Monkey Mia and after lunch at the van went to the aquarium just out of Denham. It was excellent! We got to see and learn about heaps of cool marine animals; sea snakes, rays, turtles, poisonous fish and sharks. The boys LOVED it. After milkshakes and coffees we went around to the boardwalk at Eagle Bluff, which winds around the edge of the cliff so that you can look out into the water and spot heaps of marine life. We saw dolphins and sharks come in close to herd a huge school of fish but none of them ate them for some reason. That evening Ben and the boys went squid fishing down on the pier and Jack caught a squid.
