Hello!

Well I am nearing the end of my first week of teaching, I have taught six lessons so far! I am teching three classes.

To explain a little, there are about 80 trainees and they all study one of five courses; healthcare, kindergarten,culinary & bakery, tailoring and computers and accountancy.

I am teaching English (and as of next week a few computer classes) to the Culinary and Bakery girls, Sewing and Tailoring and the healthcare girls.

I get incredibly nervous before lessons, but somehow I manage to get through them! I am not sure I am the best teacher in the world, but I think they are at least learning something. Their English is in general pretty good.

I forgot say the Olympic torch was continuning its journey in Malaysia on monday, the parade and the torch came right past the school, as we are on a fairly main road. The mood was very calm but also very happy as there were floats with dancers etc, very different to London etc!

I am doing my first bit of travelling this weekend, I am heading to Melaka. I dont have any classes on a monday so I am going away for three days which gives me a bit more time to explore the city, its supposed to be quite beautiful. I have booked a reccomended hostel to stay and its only 2.50 a night! I have found that in general in Malaysia everything especially food is qutie cheap.

Some things do still come as a bit of a shock here, we sat down for lunch the other day and it was fish head curry (literally). Obviously I just ate the vegetables!
