Hey,
So on the sunday Claire and I headed to Penang which is on the West Coast of Malaysia, its actually an Island which I think may have the longest bridge crossing of its kind.
We got the coach really early on the sunday morning (well 9am) as due to school hols is all that was left. The journey only took 5 hours, the motorways here are really good, probably as they are all toll roads!
When we go to Penang we had a walk along the sea front, which as it was colonised by the British is very English, you could be at the English sea-side. There were lots of colonial buildings and a fort with horses just wandering along the top?
We only stayed in Penang for one more day as we were eager to head to Langkawi. So on our full day in Penang on the monday we packed alot in! In the morning we went to see a renovated Chinese Merchants house which was beautiful. We then attempted to go and have tiffin at the Old English Colonial Hote; (cant remember its name) but they apparently hadnt heard of tiffin and the set lunch was to expensive to even think about! In the afternoon we headed to a huge Chinese Buddhist temple just outside Penang. The temple(s) were beautiful and it was so high into the mountain it even had its own sort of cable car!
