Hi,

So my first day of teaching is over, but luckily I just shadowed Jen for the first day and got to know the ropes about eating in the canteen and where certain classrooms are etc.

I have my first lesson on my own tomorrow and I am very scared! I have done a rough lesson plan and will finish it tonight before bed. As its not a school as such, and the lessons we do would not happen if we were not here, there is no curriculum for us to follow, so we just teach whatever part of English we like!

Yesterday I went on a wonder to the city rainforrest and stupidly did not think to put on bug spray so I woke up with some rather nasty mosi bites. I also went up the Menora tower which is set in the middle of the forrest, its the fourth highest tele coms tower in the world i think, its very touristy, but the views were impressive.

I am planning to go Melaka this weekend which is south of KL, its a two hour bus ride and will be my first proper bit of travelling. I have also been told that I can take a holiday from teaching, and that alot of volunteers do it, I may take a week out and go to Penang or the East coach beaches, but not sure when yet.

Jen leaves next wednesday but another volunteer arrives the day after she leaves and is here until I go.
