IT'S CHRISTMAS!!! And what a very bizarre surreal Christmas it's been.
This was a Christmas of many firsts for me; the first Christmas Day I have ever woke up on my own, the first Christmas Day I haven't spent with mum and the first Christmas Day that I've been raving.
I didn't see the point of trying to recreate a traditional Christmas over here as my life is so completely different. As my worlds all upside down it seemed fitting to jump at the opportunity of going to a festival and stomping my socks instead of sitting down to a traditional roast and playing board games.
After a long phone call home and opening up the lovely gifts sent over from my mum & Vince, Danny & Stef, plus my auntie and uncle Barbara & Dave and my cousin Danielle & her boyfriend Mark I got ready and headed over to Bondi to join all the other little Christmas orphans at the Sunburnt Festival.
The atmosphere at Bondi Pavillion was buzzing and by far the best way for me to spend my alternative Christmas. Everybody was in high spirits and a real festive mood. Frankie Knuckles had a great set but the Potbellez stole the show.I stomped my heart out and afterwards carried on at my mate Chloe and Mim's place in the Junction.
Then today me and the girls enjoyed a lovely meal at Bondi. Instead of the typical Boxing Day dinner of cold cuts, Branston and gherkins (which I actually missed) I had a lovely scallop salad and then spent the day relaxing, sunning ourselves on the beach watching the boats go by for the annual Sydney to Hobart race. Things definitely are different down here!
