... MEA Christmas Dinner at the Opera House. Coogee. Red Head...
What a way to start the weekend. On Friday night I was taken out for MEA's Christmas dinner at Bennelong, the restaurant at the Sydney Opera House. Considering I'm only temping I felt very privileged to have been included. The meal was exceptional and the company was brilliant, making it a wonderful and funny experience.
The whole setting was fabulous with the high sail like ceilings of the iconic Opera House and a wonderful view over looking the Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay. And with perfect timing as we ended our meal there was fireworks at the Bridge that set the skies alight with an array of colours and glitter.
I had a Carpaccio of venison that melted in your mouth for starters. The most sensational local snapper on a bed of green & white asparagus with capers, olives, lemon and extra virgin olive oil for mains. And if that hasn't got your mouth watering I had a passionfruit soufflé with crème Chantilly for dessert that was to die for. The Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc wines that were served were equally as stunning and complimented the meal magnificently.
Then the mood shifted as we changed from being sophisticated and refined to us acting like a bunch of silly school kids. It was so funny twatting about taking stupid random photos in this high class restaurant. I've got to say with this lot they work hard but they play a lot harder, especially Rachel whose an absolute scream (just check out my pictures, she's ace!)
After the meal we headed to the Opera Bar for more drinks and then carried the night on at this really nice atmospheric bar in the Rocks called the Argyle. Where we carried on making fools of ourselves dancing around the place. It was such a great evening.
The rest of the weekend I chilled out, tried to top up my tan at Coogee Beach and went for some drinks down at the Coogee Bay Hotel.
It'd been a pretty busy week working on a project for Dove and swimming quite a bit so it was nice to let my hair down at the weekend. And talking about hair it's now red. The mauve colour I had put in underneath faded far too quickly so the salon gave me a complimentary service on the new shade. I'm loving my mid-twenties crisis it's so interesting and fun!
