...Getting active. Working for NOSH catering...
Decided that now I'm getting settled in Sydney I'm going to start getting active again and take part in various leisure pursuits. I've missed not getting regular exercise by going to the gym and stomping my socks off at the weekends.
I got a special offer on a 10 day gym pass so I've been trying a whole range of activities; Brazillian Dance, Ki Yoga, Capoeira, Pole Dancing, Contemporary Dance and lots more. Of all the activities I did the one that stood out for me was Tai Chi. Considering its now quite a meditative pursuit I was quite amazed to find out its originally a martial arts form (and one that many are based upon). What appealed to me was its all about energy movement and transference. And the movements within the sequences are so elegant and powerful. I'm so glad I got a chance to experience it as it's pursuit I'd really like to take up in the future.
Carried on doing some more shifts for the catering agency and worked at a whole array of events including special private functions at the Sydney Opera House, a farewell ceremony for the international students of the University of Sydney, and a wedding at the Maritime Museum. Working at the Opera House was pretty cool as I got have a bit of wander through it and see the under belly of the operation.
