...new job at MEA. Coogee to Bondi walk...
I started the most amazing job this week that will allow me to gain experience in a field of marketing I've been itching to try out for a really good company located right in the middle of the CBD.
I'm now an Account Executive for the Marc Edward Agency (MEA) which is a niche consumer promotions and marketing agency based in Sydney specialising in below-the-line marketing to young adults. Their clients include Sony Ericsson, Unilever, LVMH, Telstra, Nudie Smoothie & Juices (Innocent for you guys back at home), and many other well-known global brands.
My role will be to assist on campaigns and promotions but the tasks will vary greatly. I'll be helping to create & execute campaigns, liaise with clients, brief staff on their roles & manage them, as well as on-site management of promotions and staff and mystery shopping. Plus I'll be preparing information for the client on their campaign by taking photographs and gathering feedback as well as creating reports for the client and producing end of campaign wrap-ups.
I'm pretty excited as this a brilliant opportunity for me and I never thought I'd get a chance to gain experience like this whilst travelling as I expected I'd be doing typical backpacker type jobs.
Its quite long hours compared to other jobs but it pays pretty well and the people who work there are friendly and a good laugh.
I managed to get a day off before starting so I took the bus down to Coogee to go exploring. I did the Coogee to Bondi walk that takes you along one of the more popular coastlines of Sydney. It was a lovely sunny day and I got to really take in the atmosphere of the place and enjoy the various beaches along the way.
