30 degrees!!! I haven't had 30 since we left oz, but today that all changed. It's lovely to feel a nice warm day again, actually we were all feeling it. We left our apartment about 11am & wandered down the hill towards Athens. We found a cab & got him to drop us in the main area of Plaka. Here we wandered through the lanes before stopping for a late breakfast/ lunch. Following this we decided to get the big one out of the way & headed for the Parthenon. We paid our entrance & proceeded up the steep climb of the Acropolis moving via shaded areas. On reaching the top we all enjoyed the views out of the city & wandering around the ancient ruins. It took us about an hour, owing to the heat, to see all that we wanted before moving off downhill towards the Agora (more ancient ruins). We found this closing so headed back into town to wander amongst the shops & just enjoy being a part of Athens. We ended up at Parliament House to watch the changing of the guards. We then dined in the evening along a nice stretch of restaurants on the edge of the Agora. As evening fell it was still quite warm so we joined the thousands of people & wandered around the boundaries of the Acropolis. We returned home by midnight exhausted & retired to bed to recharge for our final day in Athens tomorrow.
