After having a lovely dinner and such a quite night at the Stirling Mill camp site, we started our day by driving back to Bitters Springs for a float down the creek. After seeing other travellers the day prior floating down the creek with noodles, we were rather inventive with blowing up a water bladder (yes water - not a wine bladder, they are too sacred up this way) and floated down the creek twice. Great way to start a days travelling.
Stopped at Katherine, for shopping, fuel and washed the bus. We had to wait until 2pm to buy wine and yes we were asked for ID (prior to even entering the bottlo) by a local police officer and our licence details were then put into the computer system. Another stop at yet another bottlo and asked for more ID before heading out of Katherine.
Didn't check out Pine Creek, we will do that on our way back from Darwin. Headed towards Kakadu National Park and pulled into Harriet Creek Rest Area.
Only one other vehicle there, when we pulled up, John & Maureen from Aldinga Beach SA. Had happy hour with them, whilst other campers pulled in and joined us. All went and had dinner before finishing the night with drinks around a campfire. Loving free camping.
