My first week of classes has concluded, and actually went by so quickly. My anatomy class doesn't start until after six weeks of classes, so I don't have any classes on Fridays for now. My classes went well for the week. Besides the Irish music and history class, I am also taking Irish Folklore which actually seems like it's going to be really interesting. It goes into detail about the mythological world and superstitions, and how the Irish are still very superstitious about things, especially when it has to do with religion or a Saint. I'm learning my way around a little bit better now. I also did laundry for the first time this week. Our laundry room is down by the parking garage of our building, and the washers are super small. It also snowed on Tuesday, January 13, which apparently doesn't happen very often. It was really cold and actually coated some of the cars. It was interseting to see because many students went to make snowmen, and other international students got to experience the snow which they may not have ever seen before either. On Wednesday, UCC had their activity fair so I stopped by to look at some of the Societies the school offered. On Thursday, I went to do some errands after class and did a little bit of shopping. TJ Maxx here is actually called TK Maxx. We stopped at Paradise Crepes again and I had the Fraise this time, which was strawberries with chocolate sauce (pictures in my album). Two of the better meals I made this week was whole wheat pasta tossed with olive oil and balsamic with sauteed peppers, onions, and broccoli, and then the second was meat sauce with a side salad with avocado, so the cooking has been going pretty well so far. I have made a plan to go to Cobh, Ireland on Friday!
