Our early bus ride to Pisa Airport definitely took a toll on us in terms of not sleeping that great. We flew into Paris Beauvais airport, and when we got off the plane and walked inside, the first thing we saw were army men with giant guns. We were kind of taken back by this and wanted to get out of there as soon as we could. We then took a longer bus ride into Paris city center, and found the metro to take to our hostel, the Generator. We ate at our hostel and tried to make a plan for what we would do for the rest of the day. We took showers and tried to regroup a little bit so that we could go see the Eiffel Tower for the afternoon and see it at night. Once we regrouped a little bit, we took the metro to the Eiffel Tower. We could see it all along the metro ride. We waited in line for tickets to go up it. You could take an elevator or stairs up it. Once we got to the top, we got off at all the levels to see the views. It reminded me of the London Eye or the Duomo, where you could see far into the distance and all the buildings, and it looked more like London in terms of a city. We got crepes after we saw the Eiffel Tower, and then waited until it got dark to see it light up. After that, we headed back to our hostel to get some sleep before a longer day ahead of us. We walked 9.33 miles today. On Thursday, we met up with our other friend Gabby who was visiting with her parents, so she met us in Paris. Our first stop would be the Love Lock Bridge. It was so warm out on Thursday, so much warmer than we were used to. Many people were in shorts. Most of the Lock Bridge was boarded up since the locks are weighing down the bridge and causing parts to break. After the Lock Bridge we met a tour group by St. Michel's Fountain downtown. This was more in the city area. Our tour group was emphasizing the pick pocketers in Paris, so we were all clutching our bags pretty much the whole trip. A man in our tour group said he had just got to Paris and a man already had his hand in his pocket. We learned that Paris is the most visited city in Europe. We then walked to the Cathedral of Notre Dame. It was so pretty, even at 850 years old. It's the most famous cathedral in the world. We waited in line to get inside to see it. We then walked to the Musee de Louvre. We waited in line and got inside, and went to see the Mona Lisa first. There was a huge crowd parked outside of it to take pictures, so we had to kind of plow our way in and out. It was pretty crowded since there were so many people out due to the nice weather. We then went to find the Arc de Triomphe. We walked around that area and had dinner here. Once we saw the main things we wanted to see, we took the metro back to our hostel to pack for the morning, since we were leaving on the earlier side to head to Croatia. On Thursday we walked 6.67 miles.
