On Monday, we took a 1am bus to the airport for our 7am flight to Frankfurt, Germany. We were pretty tired again. We got to our hotel to drop our stuff off, and we decided to take a nap before we did anything else. We figured out what else we wanted to do and low keyed it for the rest of the day. We took the metro to go to Chipotle for dinner, since we read there was one in Germany and we hadn't had it for over 4 months. We did 5.85 miles of walking. On Tuesday, we planned to go to the Frankfurt Zoo. It was a longer metro ride, but was a lot of fun. We got to see zebras, giraffes, and a lot of monkeys. We then went to the Frankfurt city center area for a while. The next morning we were leaving for Cologne, Germany, since we would be flying out of that airport. We walked 6.48 miles today. On Wednesday, we took a bus to Cologne and then took a taxi to our hostel. We really like the Cologne area, and wish we had stayed there for two nights, rather than two nights in Frankfurt. We went to the downtown area and went to find the Dom, the famous cathedral in Cologne. We walked inside and got to see the pretty Church. It had a lot of stained glass. It was almost 80 degrees out while we were here, which was the warmest weather we would have our whole trip. By the Dom, there was a shopping area with high-end stores that we would have at home, that was just a walking area and cars weren't allowed through. We got ready for dinner and walked to another area with smaller shops and restaurants and had dinner outside. We did 6.41 miles of walking. On Thursday, we would leave for Rome Ciampino airport again to pick up our Bus2Alps tour of the Amalfi Coast. We went to Rome for the day since our tour didn't pick us up until 11pm. We got to eat in Rome, but the downside was Sarah's phone got stolen. Luckily, that was the only thing like that that happened on our trip. No one was hurt and no one was pickpocketed otherwise.
