Great day today after that spectacular sunrise.
We arrived at Calais about 11am.
And we drove straight up to Immigration.
I think Calvin was a bit spooked as there were absolutely no buses in front of us.
He said usually there were a dozen buses lined up and hundreds of people queued.
( This, of course, then spooked me. I thought the end of the world had come and I hadn't got the memo. )
So we drive into this totally deserted bus car park and walk into the Immigration Building.
Then negotiate the roped lines....with absolutely no one in front of us.
I was first.
A few routine questions.
How long are you staying in the UK?
What are you doing while you are here?
I don't really think he should have asked me that....because I told him.
He now knows that David Tennant is playing the lead in The Royal Shakespeare production of Richard11 in Stratford on Avon.
He seemed interested.
He wished me a good time.
I think he was humouring me.
I checked with others later...
He didn't seem to ask them what they were doing while they were here.
Anyway, back on the bus.
All of us.
Except one.
Lorinda...early 30's....decided to travel...sold her house...work wouldn't give her time off...so she quit.
Filled out her immigration card on the flight into Heathrow...
Occupation...Unemployed.
They don't like that.
She's doing 4 tours while she is here and each time she tries to get back into the UK....she has a very hard time.
So, she went through her story....again....and they finally let her join us.
Drove to the ferry.
Everyone off the bus.
Bags loaded onto luggage trains to be loaded onto the ferry.
Many hugs and goodbyes said to Sabri, our bus driver....
Then....Calvin is told that the lift is broken on the ferry.
So....it's everyone back on the bus and Sabri gets to drive us all on board.
Where we all get off the bus again...
Say goodbye again and wave him goodbye.
Flat seas.
Stunningly sunny day.
Sat and watched the White Cliffs of Dover come closer and closer.
You could see the cliffs from the port at Calais.
Spectacular!
Two hour drive to London.
Dropped off at the Ibis at 5.30pm.
Said goodbye to everyone.
Cannot believe that I didn't know these people a month ago.
Lovely room again.
Not quite the view this time.
Had chicken and chips for dinner...that shop is pleased to see me back.
Rearranged the case.
Rang Meagan.
Meeting at Earl's Court Station at about 4.30pm.
( I will be the one standing at The TARDIS.)
How cool is that!!!!!!!!!!
I AM MEETING MEAGAN AT THE TARDIS!!!!!!
Wow.
Think I have always wanted to write that.
Heading to Victoria and Albert Museum tomorrow ....about a 20 minute walk.
Simone.....Windmill!
Your family really should go there.....you'd love it.
(Simone's family have played a version of ' I Spy'....but it's the first one to spot a ...... Windmill.
They would go crazy in Amsterdam! )
Yes....that photo was for you Simone.....and it was a BIG windmill.
A different person arrived back in London.
Just that bit more confident about being in strange new city.
I was walking up the street grinning to myself.
This is good for me.

Katrina Carolyn, you sound like you are having an amazing time. I feel like I am seeing the world through your eyes and its amazing. You have made me realise how big this world really is.Take care and enjoy the rest of your travels and keep blogging.
Andrew B Ello me lovely, Back in the UK eh. WOW (I love this word) Now you can say you are a seasoned traveler! This is your SECOND time to the UK this year !!!!! How good is that, twice to England in the same year………………………..you must know your way around by now. Amsterdam is fascinating isn’t it, all those bicycles & bells ding ding. They are everywhere its hard not to get run over by a bike. The canals are interesting and the people watching is endless- especially those in the “coffee” houses, little tables & chairs all set up under umbrellas. Thrilled you went to Anne Franks house, it was a highlight for us, so moving to actually be there. We HAD to read the book at school, but it just didn’t seem possible, not real. Now YOU can say you have physically been there WOW WOW WOW – Anne Franks house – history - a pinch yourself moment. I love that you saw (and took a great photo) of the houses on the canal that are all leaning on each other. Did you see the “red light” district? I’m sure you have made many new friends on your trip and it’s never good bye, but farewell until we say hello again. We have just enjoyed fish & chips for tea (had a big lunch – both of us) AFL tomorrow - drinks & TV. Then on Sunday we are going on a road trip (George is also a chauffeur) so it’s up and out nice and early………………………will turn this into an all day event………………………leading into dinner. David Tennant is getting closer and closer you must be sooooo excited. A new person arrived back in London, this trip has been good for you because you were good for the trip. I knew you would get so much more out of your trip than you could ever imagine. Absolutely thrilled and pleased for you and so proud. I’ll let you find the TARDIS………………………………keep having fun. Andrew Xx

I'm thinking you might need your boots for this tour!! hahha oh stuff it just buy some nice new ones!!I can't believe Meagan saw David Tennant!!! How exciting! I hope you run into John Barrowman (he's currently in London keep a lookout!!) otherwise I'm sure you'll see him in Cardiff next Friday, well that is where Captain Jack actually lives & works after all. hehehe. Have fun x
