Not that startling a day today.
Bit tired.
Alarm woke us both with a crash this morning at 9am.
I went to downstairs, read all the comments!
( Thank you everyone. They are such fun to get.)
I rang Mum and we had a great chat.
Then I went to breakfast and left there after stealing a coffee for Emily.
We headed off in search of Brick Lane, the street renowned for it's trendy market.
We found it but the trendy market is held on a Sunday.
Asked directions of a local out walking her dog.
She confirmed Sunday's and suggested Spitalfields Market.
We were not too concerned as we passed 2 other markets on the short walk to Brick Lane, and one of them was Spitalfields. And it looked big.
So we backtracked to Spitalfields Market.
There has been a market on this sight for 350 years.
Wow!
Antiques Day but also trendy day.
Emily and I decided to divide and conquer so off we went.
It was fun.I did the antiques first.
Found a charm.
An antique silver beef eater.
He's lovely.
Then, after 2 different stall holders asked me if I was alright...
( Only one drink in the bar last night but it was a huge day.)
.... I decided that perhaps I wasn't alright.
They don't sell milk shakes over here.
Perhaps I am just looking in the wrong places.
And I decided that I needed milk.
And Milo ...
( Because it's marvellous what a difference Milo makes...)
But I really didn't think I'd get Milo either, not sure why really.
People just don't like to give you Milo, do they?
So I into this Pie Shop ...
And said to the girl that what I wanted was a tall glass of cold milk with a bit of chocolate topping mixed in.
So she into the fridge, poured a tall coffee takeaway cup full of cold milk and then kept shaking powered chocolate on the top.
She put in a stirring stick, stuck the lid on and ... Wouldn't take any money for it.
So nice. ( I did try to explain that I was not strange.)
And it went down a treat.
Until I hit all that powdered chocolate. That tended to clog all breathing passages but I managed.
And I felt much better.
Met up with Emily, did more shopping.
Then back to the Hotel at 1pm because I needed to take a nap.
Emily went in search of more shopping.
I have left a bit of space there for the stunned silence.
I have had 3 naps in my entire life after the age of 5, and you have no idea how cross I was that I had to have one now.
I was in London for goodness sake.
You don't nap.
Also, anyone who mentions naps, or any variations of such, in comments, I will delete them.
Anyway, after the nap, possibly not that refreshed ( Did not sleep well ) I went walking.
I had seen these wonderful statues on our first night so back I went.
That was great.
The way they have captured the movement of the horses is just amazing.
So then, getting ready for the Theatre.
We're going to Drury Lane!
Emily and I caught the tube to Temple to walk for 10 minutes to the theatre to see War Horse.
We left at 6pm and were seated, eating Indian food at a little restaurant near the theatre 30 minutes later.
The Tube is fantastic.
I was a little worried that we might be late to pick up our tickets so I shot off round the corner to the theatre.
Easy at the ticket window.
I also bought 2 programs and had a great chat with 2 ushers while they found me a War Horse carry bag.
Back to Emily for wonderful Indian.
The owner took our photo.
Then onto the theatre.
War Horse was wonderful.
Our seats were great, 5 rows from the front.
We were pretty excited.
Emily and I just kept grinning at each other.
We thought we had done pretty well.
Everything about the show was fantastic.
We both cried.
It is an amazing show!
The horses.
The story.
The goose!
So glad we did this.
LOVED IT. We both did.
Wandered out with all the crowd.
There were people everywhere.
Lovely walk in London.
Tube home.
In the Lobby.
Emily went straight to bed.
It's 11.30 nearly.
Just add the photos.
St Paul's, Millennium Bridge and Shakespeare's Globe tomorrow.
Haven't got anywhere for a view yet.
The Shard with an elevator is looking very good but I don't think we will get there.
Finger's crossed, we might make HARRODS .
I'm really gonna need a Milo.

Andrew Browning Relax, regroup and enjoy today....................You have seen and done so much this week, well done you!
Daryl I agree with Andrew - chill girl, chill. Even you can't see it all so enjoy what parcels you open and smell the roses. That market looks crazy scary to me.Love the pics of the horse art. How clever to make the hooves 'splash' - looks brilliant.
Carolyn Scary markets, Daryl. Haha.Yep timed little fountains ( splashes ) came racing down the water until they were just under the hooves of the galloping horses, showing their path through the water.Brilliant!
Andrew Browning ELOC To London,(billing is done and time for breakfast, although late this morning - almost lunch) What a nice pace activity, a few hours in the fresh air and head to Brick Lane and its market..…ok it turned out to be Spitalfields market but hey after 350 years it deserves a visit. Markets are fun, full of all sorts of people running around in search for a bargain…………..or trying to sell you a bargain!!! ????....what happened, you ran out of fuel………..great you got your cold milk drink and it was FREE………..and I’m not going to mention the * * * because I don’t believe what I just read. A * * * ???!! Glad you enjoyed War Horse, it has a fantastic review. I can tell you were not feeling ok as you were eating Indian food in an "Italian" restaurant……… That’s an awesome horse art display with the horse and the water splashing, I like that. Still lots more to explore…..and such a great selection you have noted. My pick of the day would be THE SHARD. Just be careful which line of people you join, one is for train tickets hahaha Windy and warm today, 17 degrees and tomorrow should be around 18…………..spring has sprung! We are now thinking of going back to the UK next July to start our holiday, thanks for the tour – has wet my appetite! Enjoy whatever surprises the day brings and have FUN FUN FUN X0X
